5 Kiehl’s Products That Have Transformed My Skin

I am so excited to be sharing with you my favourite Kiehl’s products. Although this post may come off as a bit sponsory, it’s not, I am just a big fan! A little background info on my skin before diving into these amazing products. I have very oily, acne prone skin and I am prone to breakouts. I also have very sensitive skin and I am very cautious of what I put on it. I have used so many skin care brands throughout my life and there are only a handful of products that I consistently purchased until discovering Kiehl’s. Since May of this year, I am officially a convert!

When I first sat down with a Kiehl’s skincare expert, I was extremely shocked to hear that my skin was actually very dehydrated. So even though I am oily as f*%k, my skin wasn’t getting the moisture it needed. It’s possible my skin was overproducing oil to combat the dryness. The expert suggested a handful of products, including all of the ones listed below that would help moisturize my skin and help with oiliness. I am SO glad I sat down with her that day, because my skin has transformed! I’m not going to lie, I did what you’re not supposed to do, completely change everything in my skincare routine overnight. I experienced “purging” and a few random breakouts but I stuck it out and BAM, two weeks later my skin was flawless and glowing. You aren’t going to see results over night and you need to give the product a chance before throwing in the towel and believe me, I am so glad I didn’t.

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Oil. I am always weary of expensive face oils. Nothing worse than dropping a ton of coin on a small bottle of face oil and have it not work well. I was given a deluxe sample by Kiehl’s in store when purchasing other products and the sample lasted me almost two months! When it was gone, I immediately went a purchased a full bottle. I use 3 drops nightly and gentle press it into my skin before moisturizing. The next day my skin always looks brighter, smooth and moisturized. Honestly this stuff really works wonders for me!

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream. I feel like this cream is a cult classic. It’s extremely popular and now I understand why. Despite what you might think, this moisturizer is extremely light-weight and absorbs nicely. A quarter-sized amount covers my entire face. I have extremely sensitive skin, which is prone to burning and irritation and this cream was having none of that! When I wake up in the morning my skin is soft and dewy to the touch and I have a nice natural glow. Perfect for the cold/dry Canadian winters. I recently picked up the Limited Edition Autism Speaks packaging designed by Mathew McConaughey which is awesome!

Kiehl’s Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash. I probably would not have picked this product if the Kiehl’s consultant didn’t recommend this to me because I had no idea what Calendula was. I have always used a foaming face cleanser because it’s best for oily skin and this one is the best one I’ve ever used. It removes excess oil without drying your skin out. I wear a lot of makeup, so getting a deep clean is important to me. I’m not even halfway done the 250ml bottle and it’s been 6 months, so for $38 CAD I would say that’s a win.

Kiehl’s Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate. Now that I am in my late twenties, fine lines and wrinkles has become an increasing issue for me which is why I picked this product up. It is an extra step in improving that moisture barrier to prevent wrinkles due to dehydration. It makes my skin look youthful, plump and dewy. I didn’t wear it everyday in the summer because it was a bit too much somedays, but I think I will be reaching for this a ton in the winter.

Kiehl’s Lip Balm #1 Cranberry. As a person who suffers from dry lips this stuff is amazing. It doesn’t cause acne breakouts around the mouth which some lip balms do for me. I LOVE the cranberry flavour, it smells amazing and I love putting it on in the morning and before bed to keep my lips hydrated.

As you can see, I’m seriously hooked on Kiehl’s. I have my eye on a few other products that I plan on picking up before the year ends and I will be sure to share my thoughts on those. Have you ever tried Kiehl’s and if you have I would love to hear about your favourites below!
