At Home | In the Bedroom
Our second room in the house to be fully finished is the bedroom! When we first moved in, the bedroom was pained stark white after renovation which was very hospital like and not welcoming. I love white walls, just not in the bedroom. Our house currently has a colour theme of black, white, beige and gold so we decided on a black statement wall. I remember painting it and thinking, “I’ve made a horrible mistake”, but after putting everything together I’m now in love with how it turned out!
The bedroom has a mix of new and sentimental items. The first sentimental item being the bed frame, which Jon single handedly built for me for my 24th birthday. Originally it was natural wood, but we painted it black with the wall because it blended nicely. The mid century side tables were my late Grandpas which I painted white and added new hard wear to modernize them. The gold mirror was also from my Grandpa which I’m in love with!
I am so happy with how the bedroom turned out, now we just have to remember to make the bed in the mornings to keep it looking nice!
